Welcome!
I’m Aviva Romm, MD, midwife, and herbalist – and I am so glad you’re here.
Sleep is one of the first things to unravel in the menopause transition – and one of the hardest to get real help for. It’s the woman who lies awake at 3 a.m., night after night, dragging through her days on fumes. She’s told it’s “just menopause” and sent home with too little, or a prescription that misses the cause entirely. It’s the woman who wakes up at 4 a.m. and can’t get back to sleep, and instead lies there catastrophizing about her whole life – and just can’t get back to sleep. It’s the woman who goes to her healthcare practitioner and is told “you’re in menopause – you’ll just have to learn to cope with it.”
This course changes that. Over nine lessons, you’ll learn to see sleep the way it actually works in a woman’s midlife body (and brain!): what healthy sleep really is, the hormonal shifts driving those 3 and 4 a.m. wake-ups, and the root causes behind “it’s just menopause” – thyroid, mood, blood sugar, circadian disruption, sleep apnea.
Then you’ll build the plan, in the order that actually works: assessment first, then the lifestyle foundations, then CBT-I, and finally botanicals, supplements, and hormone therapy (or even sleep medications, when needed) – each layered on the last, rather than a quick fix of any of the above.
Whether you’re a clinician who wants to help women in menopause finally get good sleep, or a woman trying to make sense of your own nights, you’ll leave knowing what good sleep looks like, what’s happened to it, and exactly what to do to reclaim good rest – and with it – help women feel like themselves again.
Wishing you enjoyment, aha moments, and deep learning on this journey,
Dr. Aviva
