Introduction to the Class
Each of us has an innate birthing wisdom that, when reclaimed, can create the foundation for you to have the most physiologic birth possible. In addition to knowing want–and don’t want – for your birth, and making decisions about the support you want and need, becoming birth literate is an important step toward having your most empowered birth – and working with labor, not against it. This means understanding the processes of labor and birth, what the ‘stages of labor; are and what your body -and baby – are doing along the way. In this class we’ll explore the process and stages of labor, what you need to know, and how to ‘unlearn’ the common misconceptions about labor and birth that you may have internalized – or that your medical providers might have – that can get in the way.
